Let’s start it off with a confession that will probably get me hate.
Tifa in my opinion was the worst character in the history of Final Fantasy games. In FFVII she ignored Cloud as a child even when he tried his best to get her attention. He wanted to be like Sephiroth and join SOLDIER just so he could gain her as a friend. She started paying attention to him only because of that fact.
After Zack died and he fell into believing he WAS Zack, she did NOTHING to fix it. Tifa pushed him further into believing that is who he was.
In Advent Children, Tifa pretty much told Cloud to suck it up and get over it. After everything he went through. His town being burned down, his mother dying, Zack dying, Aerith dying, and so much more she tells him to forget about it.
She was a terrible person and I never liked her. I even have trouble RPing with Tifa’s because of how much I hate her.
Let me get this straight: just because a guy is into you, you have to reciprocate? I don’t think so.
Tifa was a lively and optimistic person; she had many friends, yet she wasn’t friends with Cloud, despite being neighbors with him. That sounds weird, right? Yeah, that’s because Cloud was quiet, he thought he was better than other people, and he hated Tifa’s friends. Why would you be friends with a guy like that, especially if you didn’t even know he had a freakin’ crush on you. Let me remind you that Cloud was basically isolated because of his attitude, before and after the Mt. Nible incident, which made it very easy for the townsfolk to blame Cloud for Tifa’s accident. After all, she was the one that got hurt, not him. Who are they to believe? A little girl or a boy who gets into fights and isolates himself?
When he joined SOLIDER, *HE* called HER out to the well. That was probably the first time she ever thought he wanted to talk to her, and she expressed a young, idealistic wish to be saved. It wasn’t because he joined that she thought about him, it was because he finally talked to her and promised to protect her. She was worried for him, she checked the news every day for him.
When she met Cloud again, he was deep in trauma and thought he was Zack, basically. If you know trauma, you know you can’t just tell someone to snap out of it. Tifa was afraid, and rightly so. The day that Sephiroth came, her whole town burned to the ground, loved ones killed, her whole entire life was ruined. So yeah, while it was hard for Cloud, let’s not forget about how fucking hard it was for Tifa too. She was brave for moving on, for fighting back the only way she knew how—joining AVALANCHE. Sephiroth didn’t just touch Cloud’s life, you know.
In Advent Children, after all that had happened, Tifa was doing her best to take care of Marlene and Denzel (despite his sickness.) She has every right to be angry when she thought that Cloud was running away while she stayed behind to take care of the kids.
Because let’s remember how Tifa never ran from Cloud. She stayed behind to watch over him when he had mako poisoning, despite others believing that she should act as temporary leader. Cloud was most important to her. I will never forget the scene where she tried to wheelchair Cloud out of all the destruction, and then she helped piece his memories back together AND encourages him to believe in his own existence.
Yeah, that’s right.
I will forever stan Tifa Lockhart.
I really don’t get why people put this much time into hating a character. Seriously, ever heard the statement like it or leave it? Leave it! If you hate them so much they shouldn’t even be worth your time.
That’s not to say that I don’t like Tifa, that’s just to say that there is too much shit that I have to deal with every day that if I spent time focusing on the stuff that pissed me off I would never be happy.
